With our single vineyard wines we aim to showcase our best plots. Each wine represents a place that is characterised by its soil, its climate, and its variety.

La-Mimbrera-graciano
GRACIANO

La Mimbrera

This wine has a very special sentimental value since it is the first vineyard we planted in the town of Ábalos, next to the 100 years-old vineyards of La Mimbrera – Coupage Tradicional. The idea was to develop a 100% Graciano wine, at high density (5,000 feet / ha) in an Atlantic context: Rioja Alta, limestone and clay soils, 450 m altitude.

Deep purple color. Spicy nose, Mediterranean herbs, hay, figs, pepper with hints of black berries. On the palate, the wine is silky and elegant, a spicy mid palate with a fresh finish.
El-Espinal
MATURANA TINTA

El Espinal

This wine is part of a collection of authentic and soulful bottlings that honors the hard work of the viticulturist Miguel Angel Mato, a native of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Through this collection of wines we hope to highlight the unique character and hard work he puts into his best plots. We hope the terroir expressed in the wines will transparently illuminate the soil, climate, and the hand of this man: a critical and fundamental element that make up their terroir

Bright purple color. Aromas of black fruit (blackberry, blueberry), white pepper and licorice. On the palate, very round and greedy, very spicy (black pepper). Powerful and vibrant, very fresh final, with a clearly marked Atlantic character.

COUPAGE TRADICIONAL

La Mimbrera

This wine has a very special sentimental value since it is the first vineyard plot that we bought in the village of Ábalos: La Mimbrera. We are talking about a vineyard almost 100 years old, planted in a calcareous clay soil (17% of active limestone) in a hillside of El Hoyo, in a very Mediterranean environment: great sun exposure, wild vegetation (thyme, rosemary, lavender).

Dark ruby color. Fruits of the forest, Mediterranean herbs on the nose. Very long in the mouth, this wine offers very present plum and licorice flavors with a mineral touch. Very well integrated tannins, great freshness, long finish, marked by the limestone.
El-Bernate-Malvasia
MALVASÍA

El Bernate

Malvasía is a minority grape in Rioja. The 130 Ha of vineyards planted only represent 2% of the surface of white varieties. Through this wine we want to enhance the mineral and citric character that this variety can develop in limestone soils of Rioja Alta, in the town of San Vicente de la Sonsierra.

White Gold Color. Floral notes (acacia, rose) give way to more citric tones (lime) and white fruit (nectarine) with mineral touches (graphite). Good tension on the palate, deep with good citrus presence and freshness.

BLENDS

Blending seeks the perfect balance between the many different characteristics of our vineyard portfolio. We create styles by seeking complementary flavours which derive from our grape varieties and their specific sites, villages or areas.
