Blending seeks the perfect balance between the many different characteristics of our vineyard portfolio. We create styles by seeking complementary flavours which derive from our grape varieties and their specific sites, villages or areas.

Boceto-de-Exopto-Tinto
RED WINE

Bozeto de Exopto

El Bozeto, as its name (sketch, outline) suggests, is our first wine project in which we present the important aspects of our range: a young wine, fresh, recently produced, with an explosion of fruity aromas which enable the consumer to appreciate the fusion of La Rioja’s 3 predominant strains. A delightful wine, easily understood, that will give a good introduction to our range of products...

Deep red with a bright rim. Spicy cherry and black raspberry on the nose, with brisk mineral and floral overtones. Juicy and focused, offering sweet raspberry and blackberry flavors and snappy acidity. Impresses with precision rather than power, and finishes with juicy berry flavors and good persistence.

RED WINE

Horizonte de Exopto

Horizonte Tinto is the first wine that we made in 2003... Its base is Tempranillo, Rioja’s principal grape variety, but made in a different style, highlighting our clear intention to create wines which are more modern, intense, highly-coloured and with just the right amount of oak - To be perfectly frank, we have to admit that at the beginning there was only going to be one red wine: Exopto... but after our first vintage, we thought we could do it better or at least differently - hence the name ‘horizonte’ (horizon)...suggesting that EXOPTO might appear.

Inky ruby. Spicy cherry and blackberry aromas are complicated by Mediterranean herbs and spices. Lush black and blue fruit flavors are supple, nicely focused and pure, with silky tannins adding support. Finishes with impressive mineral lift and persistence.
Exopto
RED WINE

Exopto

The purest expression of the Graciano variety. After 3 harvests spent getting to know our vineyards, their grapes and the best way of growing them, we reached the conclusion that the wine we so longed for would be Graciano-based... From its great complexity, aromatic finesse and freshness, a distinctive wine has been created, wonderful and elegant.

Dark Color. Fruits of the forest, baking spices, figs and licorice on the nose. Powerful and good texture on the palate, this rich red delivers mouth filling flavors of plum, licorice and mineral, with well integrated tannins, fresh acidity and a smoky spicy finish.

ROSÉ

Bozeto de Exopto

Just like Bozeto Tinto, our rosé is a wine in which fruit and freshness predominate. Made from Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes from two plots located in the villages of Ábalos and San Vicente de la Sonsierra at an altitude of more than 500 meters, this wine aims to express the fruit of Garnacha and the complexity of Tempranillo. A wine of pleasure, refreshing and alive in line with the other products in the range.

Pale salmon tones, White fruits, citrics and rose on the nose. Good acidity, very fresh, Middle body, very smooth and balanced.

WHITE WINE

Horizonte de Exopto

In times past, it was quite usual to plant white variety vines in a red grape vineyard parcel – for reasons far removed from how we operate today - because the white grape varieties were more productive and could “compensate” for low yields from the poorest soils. In addition, the white varieties, more susceptible to disease, were able to predict the likely need for treating the rest of the red vineyard. Viura, Malvasía and Garnacha Blanca were planted indiscriminately - therefore it is difficult to ascertain what percentage of each variety the wine has, due to the vines being scattered all over the red grape vineyard.

Grey gold colour, citric hints, white flowers and anise with a touch of rosemary. Fresh and alive on the palate, long finish with mineral touch. Very well balanced.
WINES

SINGLE VINEYARD

With our single vineyard wines we aim to showcase our best plots. Each wine represents a place that is characterised by its soil, its climate, and its variety. This range also aims to highlight the diversity of terroirs that exists within Rioja.
